First Month
We are having a good time over here and have had a great first month. 100% of the people that come in comment on how cute the store is and how happy they are that we are in the neighborhood. We even already have regulars! But we’re greedy and want more, of course.
Great moments in the first month:
Turning on the open sign
Sending the We’re Open postcard and all the people we met after that
Figuring out the USPS Label Broker QR code
Doing the first Arden Dispatch notary
Selling 4 picnic baskets to new customer Miki
Hanging the flower baskets
Making people laugh with the Drinks on Me coasters- my favorite, “Having a daughter is like having a broke best friend who thinks your rich.”

Learning lessons in the first month:
As you may have read in the last installment, making sure we have all the forms needed for FedEx
Figuring out the shipping pricing and why it was coming up so freaking high. We have remedied that to reasonable prices for both USPS and FedEx
When you change the hours, make sure they are changed in Google and Bing too
Tally all the drop-offs and customer shipped packages
Spend money to make money
Put the fax phone line into the correct spot on the fax machine
Display gift shop items in different areas of the store
Color themes for the displays
There were many more exciting moments and are loving our new community. Thank you to all who have helped make our first month fun!
