Here We Go…

AAAAAAAA!!!!! I’m freaking out a bit. Tomorrow is the big day, the day we turn on the Open sign and cross fingers we didn’t forget anything. But as I type this, I can already think of ten things we need to do. I know some of those things won’t be ready by tomorrow, but it’s a soft opening and we’ll have everything by the grand opening in a couple of weeks. We haven’t chosen a date for that yet.

Yesterday, one of the wholesale sales reps offered to come by and help us merchandise the gift shop. It looks so much better than what we attempted. It’s organized and she has put items in ways we never would have thought of. Thank you so much, Melissa!

Today we clean, clean, clean. We are in an old building, so the fact that the windows just won’t sparkle is something I need to let go. We pull off the Coming Soon window skins that kept people from looking in and that is scary. We’re putting up the Store Hours decal, sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc. A little touch-up paint will probably happen too, and by this evening, we should be pretty well ready to go.

I keep staring off into space imagining the way this business will roll and I see it, have seen it for two years, as a really great place for the community. I just KNOW it will be a space people will want to visit and do their business, buy gifts, hang out and say hi. I don’t know how I know this, I just feel it in my gut. It’s going to be so good.
