Exploring Ideas

Chloe and I just returned from Niagara Falls, New York where we went to a Summit with six other independent shipping stores from around the country. We had no idea what to expect but were excited to have open minds and hearts and take in everything we could so that Arden Dispatch can be the best business for our guests.

We were welcomed by Fahim Mojawalla and his AYM High Consulting crew at his family’s store, Island Ship Center in Grand Island, NY. Fahim and his son, Yusuf, have been mentoring us for the last 5 months. Their enthusiasm is contagious, so we wanted to see their store and how they run operations, set up their equipment, see what they have improved upon over the years, get ideas for services, etc.

We also took advantage of the Niagara Falls area and walked down the road from our hotel to see the famous Falls. The Niagara River was probably the largest, most aggressive river I have seen in person. It was spectacular! Unfortunately, we didn’t get to go on the Maid of the Mist boat ride that gets you up close to the Falls and you get to wear a poncho to keep from getting soaked. Chloe was especially excited for that because this season’s Bachelor was previously there on one of his dates on the show. 😂The Labor Day weekend crowd made it a two-hour wait, so we saw the Falls from above. Still great!

Chloe and I came away with so many ideas and improvements and are excited to implement them. This weekend we will have a team meeting to share some of the ideas with our staff. These things will include a change of processes, new services, organization of the store and more.

I remember last year, our first Fall, I was excited to see the business increase and I am already seeing that increase today in early September. I am so thankful of this community for supporting us and we want to improve our business so that we can help make their lives easier. Going to the Summit gets us excited to be able to do that better than ever before.
